Here’s both a notification of a cool indoor showing of racing cars and a shout-out looking for participants. Promoter and entrepreneur Bob Miller has presented the IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show at New Jersey’s Phillipsburg Mall for the past seven years, kind of a late-winter kicker to ignite passions for the coming seasons while gentle whiteness may still be coating the ground.

Bob’s show is on again for the mall on U.S. 22, not far from the Delaware River. It’s set for March 2 through March 8, and is free to the public. Last year, more than 120 race cars, both modern and vintage, participated, along with historical societies from various bygone speedways. Because stock cars were typically destroyed during their rock ’em, sock ’em careers, some of the vintage cars are re-creations, such as the depicted Modified coupe, a tribute to the late Budd Olsen, who raced a similar number zero at the Reading Fairgrounds and elsewhere.

Entries for race cars of all sorts are now accepted to display in the Dirt Track Heroes Show. Provide your name, phone number, type of race car and the car’s number. Vendors, as well as race tracks and organizations, are invited, as well.

For more information, contact Bob and Donna Miller by phone at: 443-513-4456 or e-mail at TOTH98@aol.com .
